We came home from camping today. Drove through a decent dust storm on the way home and we were blind driving for a hot minuteView attachment 4220300

I've done that, got caught in a nasty one driving from Phoenix to Farmingon NM once. Scary! You might consider changing the air filter in your car, or at least having it checked.

Today I:

Cleaned the kitchen because my supposed employee slept in and didn't do it by 9 am when he is supposed to.

Made another batch of peach jam (made a previous batch last week). It's delicious! Eight jars today, 7 last week, all half-pints.

Sorted several bags of pinto beans and put them in quart jars ready to cook.

Taught grandson how to cook beans. Glad he wants to learn how. My goal is to put myself out of work by making my kids independent.

Made rice in the oven. Comes out perfect. Will do until my rice cooker arrives from Amazon.

Hubby already did

* 8 loads of laundry
* Dinner

Now I need to clean up the kitchen again.

On the tour busses at 9am, on our way to the Jamestown Settlement...

It took an hour to get there. It's a fascinating trip back in history. The hardships that the English, Angolan Slaves and the Powhatan Confederation people went through was harsh. I had no idea Honey Bees were brought to the "New World" by the English in the 17th century...

Back at the hotel, the evening is ours. I think we'll just relax and watch TV. Of course I will crochet while watching the movies...
