I found one of my two favorite hens dead on the coop floor this morning.
I bawled like a baby.
I cried some more when I did chickie snack this afternoon and she wasn't there.

Had beautiful weather today and was off of work so I cleaned out the chickens and enjoyed the sunshine

No idea. She was fine yesterday, as far as I could tell. I couldn't do a necropsy. Just could not bring myself to do it. She's bagged up, in the freezer, and I'll bury her when the ground thaws.

Crews are cutting trees down across the street and told us we can get the wood if we want. So, after hubby gets home, we are headed over there to saw and get wood. I will also start some very early seeds in the garden and go to work

They've been mailed, got the rebate check, and have spent all but about $25 of it.

I checked one this morning and the mail by date was 3/2. The sale ended on 3/2. I wasn't happy since previous mail by dates were at least a month after the sale end date

Picked up some stuff this morning and the mail by date is 3/16, the same as the sale end date.

It wasn't until I got home and checked again that I noticed that the year for the mail by date is 26 giving nearly a year to get the rebate sent in.
