Shelley, They mature at about 16 weeks (flight ready at 10), but they don't start laying until the following season. I get $5 for chicks, $10 for flight ready, and $30/breeding pair. If they were adults, like the ones in my photos, then $10 would be a fair price for them.

Maybe the pigeons where I lived were really big...

I'll try to take a photo of me holding one so you can see the relative size. Tomorrow. It's too late now, even though it's still light outside.

Shelleyd, I am thinking you need to send me some of your coturnix(I need a male anyway) and I will test out your fertility on them shipping to MO.

My Buttons just started laying and I am doing my own fertility test in my bator with them... I know the MR has been doing his best to ensure fertility!

I got the bright idea to move my buttons outside when we had a week's worth of 80+ degree days....of course, no sooner did I do that, then it decided to rain for about 2 weeks straight so far, give or take 12 hours here and there....evidently the buttons don't like the rain!

But I have listed test eggs on the other poultry BST thread, two or three times now, where ya been?? I've got some going out tomorrow actually!

Well, there are so many people on here anymore that the new threads like that get lost in the shuffle. URGH!! I will try to go find some do you have any threads out there open right now?

Mrs. AK-Bird-Brain :

yes, you can keep them with chickens. you have to have blackhead disease on your property so your chickens would be dying anyway!
they are SUPER friendly. you NEED them.

I think maybe she was referring to the chukar pics Mrs. AK posted

They are chukar partridges, I keep them in my chicken run with my chickens, and once you catch them, they are docile and sweet... it's the catching them that can be the hard part.

Miss Jayne asked me to wait to ship until just before she gets back, so I have a few available now. PM me if you're interested.
