Hi, my is Ken Hanks. I was a member here a while back, but I got rid of my chickens. I realized the error of my ways and got a new flock, so now I'm back to the best chicken site on the internet. I am the proud Poppa of 10 yellow buff orpington hens, 1 yellow buff orpington rooster, and 1 bantham hen. I have chickens for 2 reasons: 1. I love fresh eggs 2. I have 2 boys (7 and 5 years old) and keeping chickens teaches them lessons that I think it's importat for them to learn. It teaches them responsibility in caring for the chickens and gathering eggs as well as getting them away from the T.V. and video games. Eventually I would like to increase my flock to a size where I can sell eggs at the local Farmers Market, but I'm not in a big hurry to do that. It is more importat to m to grow my flock slowly and make sure that only healthy and quality birds join my flock. Well, that's a little about me. I look forward to gettng to know you.
