He/she got torn off one of my hens and wung onto the deck. Yes it's alive, against my better judgement.looks like a younger one, We have them around here and that's what they look like. We also have coopers hawks. they look similar and are smaller than a red tail. What happened to him?
I knew the males were smaller but I didn't realize they were that much so. It's early for them to be back here. Usually it isn't until the middle of April for them to come back into the area. Thanks for the info, I thought it was a Red-Tail but with the size couldn't be sure.I am a liscensed falconer and I use redtails to hunt squirrels and rabbits. That's a male redtail judging from the size and if it has a red tail it's an adult
Yes. She had been ale to wedge herself in a pallet, between the top boards and the bottom one and all the hawk could get at was her back end. Some feathers but no blood that I can find. I'll see if I can do a rel good looksee today and make sure there is nothing inside of her.Is the hen still alive?
Good idea, but nah. I was so mad at that hawk I just wanted to wring his neck. I didn't and he flew away, so I know that it wasn't hurt when I threw him.hi, theres you new pet, train it to chase the others away, make a perch and keep it feed real good, this is my area and others stay away. bear
