This is what a healthy egg should look like. The circle on the right side is the air cell, the circle in the middle is the dark spot of the developing embryo. There should not be an air cell on the side or the pointy end. There are lighter spots but not light as the big white half. I am so confused on what's an air cell and what isn't. Hoping they hatch right if they all make it.
What a good big sisDark brahma (still nameless) checking on her future siblings
Hmm. So what's wrong with mine? Is it bc they were shipped? This is what a healthy egg should look like. The circle on the right side is the air cell, the circle in the middle is the dark spot of the developing embryo. There should not be an air cell on the side or the pointy end.

I think most if yours are ok, some look iffy. Shipped eggs take a beating, really upsets the air cells and causes lots of air bubbles. Did you let these rest before setting? Shipped eggs should rest in the upright position in an egg carton, large end up, for about 24 hours before setting so the air bubbles dissolve and the air cells reform at the top of the egg. After they start cooking in your incubator, you can't change where the air cell is positioned.Hmm. So what's wrong with mine? Is it bc they were shipped?
I let them rest and the bigger end was higher but I didn't know to point them up, like egg carton up. Maybe that's what was wrong. I didn't know they needed big end pointing up.I think most if yours are ok, some look iffy. Shipped eggs take a beating, really upsets the air cells and causes lots of air bubbles. As long as at least some of the air cell is in the top of the big end, they should hatch ok. It's when the air cell is completely on the side or far too big that it causes trouble.I let them rest and the bigger end was higher but I didn't know to point them up, like egg carton up. Me too. I want to see what they look likeOn a lighter note, still rooting for all these babies! Come on guys and dolls, let's get this hatching thing done!!
