I think I need a bigger box. Idk how I am going to keep them all til they feather. Lol. If anyone knows of a solar powered heater (my outdoor plug is broken right now) for chicks I can stick them outside? Would my 8 week old babies mess with them?I do have an empty coop right now.![]()

I didnt think so.Definitely not safe to add them in with 8 week olds.
I don't think there's something solar available that would be adequate or reliable.
I have almost always used cardboard boxes, I can get some decent sized ones from work. Then as they grow, I'll add another box and cut doorways between them and turn it into a multi-room complex. Heat lamp in one with the food and water at the other end, a backup feeder in another room and eventually I'll add a little tub of dirt in one for them to explore and dustbath. With cardboard it's easy to take a few sticks and poke through the sides to make different height roosts too.I didnt think so.I will have to beg hubs for a bigger box
