It has hit in the low 40s for night time. I suspect we will get some 30s but for the most part high 30s and 40s are normal. I think only 10 days out of last winter were temps in the high 20s. No snow of course.Oh, that's right you're farther southwe're getting into the 20s at night sometimes now and my layers are still molting, the poor ladies look miserable. They're on a mix of feather fixer and all flock right now trying to get them dressed back up. I have one that sleeps in the nesting box on cold nights while she's molting, which seems smart. And another that knows where the heat is that I've used in past winters so I've already seen her roosting right next to the heater. She'll always let me know when she "needs" the heat, but I haven't turned it in yet this year. Probably Jan / Feb for that when it stays below freezing during the day too. Peaches is smart, if it's a warmer night she'll be roosting with everyone else, if it's cold, she'll be next to the heater. The last 2 winters that's how I knew when to turn it on, if Peaches wanted heat, the coop got heat

We didn't get snow last year, just ice storms. But I've heard we are supposed to get a lot of snow this winter. I'm not sure I'm ready for that!It has hit in the low 40s for night time. She’s so cute! And floofy! This is what I mean by super floof. Jolene also has the boots with the fur.
