I guess it returned from an alien abduction

if my jack russel gets loose thats exactly what she does to my flock... needless to say she is not trusted outside anymore

No blood, no feathers, she is greased lightning on 4 legs. Runs, breaks neck, runs after the next and on and on and on.

It's been 5 years since she's done this so I'm hoping its out of her system, but I've learned the hard way... she's on a tight leash or on her lead line.

Very few wild predators , if any would leave prey uneat, even mink will go for neck area and crop.

My bet still on a dog.

Hawk if prey was to large to carry, would feed there on the spot.
Foxes carry them off.
Coons eat on the spot or carry off a little ways.
Most owl will same as a hawk, carry away or eat on the spot if to large.(night killers)

I vote for a canine. It was either a playful puppy, or a dog ran her over.

One of my dogs ran over a guinea while playing with another dog one day
