NAME YOUR GOOSE!

We are not very good at naming geese. We started off with Frankie Johnny, Timmy and Ryan 2 years ago. Timmy and Ryan are females. Last year we purchased 3 more white Chinese which we named Larry, Moe and Curly. Curly turned out to be a female. Johnny and Ryan ( brown chinese) had 2 babies which we named Eggbert and Herbert. Eggbert is a girl. Ryan just hatched out another one this year we have been calling him or her Bertie. We also refer to Larry, Moe and Curly as the minions. Last summer they would follow Frankie around and they would do naughty things like stealing tools and the garden gnome. They are their own little mini gang in our goose flock.

I usually try for name sets for a pair. Names I have or have considered include:

Currently I have Cirrus and Nimbo, named after clouds. The are Pilgrims and the females of the breed are grey (Nimbostratus are grey ready to rain type of clouds) and the males are white (like Cirrus clouds).

I had Snow and River who were white Embdens with blue eyes.

Meadow and Muffin (poop reference). My sister objected to the names due to the meaning but I rather though it worked as they do poop a lot...

Toot and Claxon (synonyms for honk).

Covert and Quill (feathers)

Ana and Tidae said almost like Teddy (latin for the goose family)

I had more that I liked but lost my list that I made after I named my current pair.

I have a pair of American Buffs that were 2 months old July 5th. Their names are Gus the Gander and Gaby the Goose. Let me tell you, that Gaby can certainly 'gab'...lol!!! They both talk with me all the time and they are just sooo inquisitive...like toddlers, anything and everything that either can or will fit into their mouths is in there in a second. Must watch out for that...these are my first geese and I love them to bits and would be utterly devastated if anything were to ever happened to them!!! 3 Cheers for Geese!!!
