exciting news! I am predicting that i am getting my chicks tomorrow and i need major help with names.
i am thinking about these,

1. Poppy
2. Sunny
3. Flora
4. Fauna
5. Katie
6. Shadow
7. Basil
8. Robin
9. Penny
10. Amber
11. Chica
12. Belle
13. Mariah


PROBLEM IS THAT WE CAN ONLY GET SIX!!!!!!!

please help me decide!

Soon chicken math will set in, so you can use the names you didn't. Go through your list and start thinking of the ones you like best, and the leftovers can be for the future chicks.

Believe me, I thought I'd only raise 8 chickens, but that quickly became 15, and now 21.

It's funny that someone suggested Honey for a BO. My mother used to have 2 BOs and they were Honey and Ginger. Fit them perfect. My barred rock is named Winter because to me the barred pattern looks like a black chicken that got dusted with snow. You get to have tons of fun naming chickens.They can't hate you for it like your human children could! Enjoy the babies.

Araucana: Belle
short for belle teal the book or in the Disney movie

Barred rock: Chica

and last but not least
barred rock: Basil

Hello Everyone,
I have not been on in a while and my chicks have grown a lot since then and I would like to show you these pictures of my young little flock.
this thread features a 7th time going outside and a quick down pour.

chillaxing under the chair in the backyard... taking a snooze dozing off...

Nicole stands guard. she loves her her little ones... while Maple eats at the bird feeder.

chicks start waking up..

Chica gets up and starts walking to the food and water...
it starts to sprinkle as try to take a picture of Maple my big buff.
then i hear it "shhhhh" on the house top roof! "oh gosh!" i think it starts pouring the heavens opened up the drain to us it poured and poured for about 3 min and stopped
wait.. now its getting dark again!

in the left corner is the coop.
ok back to the subject..
it rained!

me and mom hurried to put them inside in fear they would get cold and sick. but they are now perfectly fine and happy chickies!


if only you where a parent of 6 crazy youngins if only you knew!
while they take cover under the trampoline poor fellas.

They grew! They're still very cute, though!
