I need to name my farm. I'll be selling eggs from pastured hens, as well as pastured chicks and pullets. I also want to add other livestock as time and finances alow. Since I lease the land I don't want the name to be site specific. I was thinking of Petrichor Farm, but I worry it might be too obscure. (yes I am a Doctor Who fan but when I think of Petrichor the first thing I think of is the smell of earth after rain.) When I was a kid I asked my dad what made that smell and after finding out it was plant oils and bacteria spores I loved it even more.

What's wrong with Frog Hollow Farm?

Pasture-ized Egg Acres
Pasture Poultry Farm
Frog Feathers Farm
Hen Hollow
Lota-Cluck Farm
Natural Earth Acres
Dirty Eggs Acres
Fresh Air Egg Farm

Frog Hollow was another farm I leased. It was an orchard and garden site combo. I Liked it but it didn't have the space I needed.

It {Petrichor} does sound like it's your family name, though...so why not YOUR family name - it's portable (not site-specific), as you're leasing. I did the same with my farm, myself...for the very same reason. Of course, with my name, I'm actually changing my last name to fit my beliefs...MoonShadow Farm.
