Ugh, I'm having trouble naming my new birds. Not just the 8 chicks I got last week, but the rooster and hen I got 2 weeks ago.

Any suggestions?

Rooster: looks a lot like a Buff Orp now, but was redder when young. Wanted a country name, but already had a rabbit named Bocephus and had a rooster (his son) named Willie (after Nelson). Garth was shot down as a choice by DH.

Hen: kinda looks a little like a penciled brahma with feathered feet. As a momma, she's caring, but is a witch to everyone else. (I'm not naming her 12 babies until I know which ones I will keep.)

New girl chicks:

2 RIR

2 Gold Stars

I've got names for the others. I'm leaning towards "Betsy" for the Ameraucana (for Betsy Ross), finding out what my Iowa born B-i-L's grannies names were for my Iowa Blue, "Dottie" for my SP Wyandotte, and I'll pick a Danish name for my DB Leghorn.

How about Johnny & June (as in Cash) for the roo and hen

RIR: Providence (capitol of Rhode Island) and Lucille (as in Ball, famous RED head)
Gold Star: Goldie ( as in Hawn) and Kate (Goldie's daughter)

LOL, my nephew's name is William Robert and we all started calling him Billy Bob. My S-i-L HATES that. I think if we named our roo that, she'd equally flip. LOL

It's ALMOST worth it.

But I like her, and her sanity means a lot to me.
