So I don't really know anything about chickens beyond what I had to know for FFA showmanship, I do know that I have a sick chicken on my hands. I guess she's been like this for three days. My fiance does the feeding and I just go out to pet now and then, but he didn't find her odd. She's been sitting on a perch in their coop for about 3 days now. Her abdomen feels like she hasn't been eating or drinking. I can't feel a stuck egg, although I don't really know what one would feel like, I assume a hard lump in her abdomen? She hasn't layed but maybe one egg yet this year though. Her right eye is stuck? closed or she just wont open it. The other appears fine.
When I found out I syringed 15ml of some electrolyte water into her mouth which she gladly drank. I put a pen out in the yard (because we have an odd sunny day) so she could have fresh grass if she wanted. After getting some water in her she did poop! Which being a rabbit person I'm hoping is good, if bunnies poop you know they aren't gone yet! I had a friend help me snap some pics but I don't know exactly how to post them on here so I have a flickr link to them. Hopefully I took pics of helpful things. I'm pretty worried about my Nanners
She usually is a some what aggressive hen and I don't think I've pet her since she was day old chick, today she let me walk up hold her and syringe water into her mouth. I do have tetracyclin and sulmet solutions to mix up if that would help?
