I'm so excited. I have a Twitter acct and follow Nasa. Well about a month ago they had a contest where you could sign up for the next Twitter Tweetup at Nasa.
I have lived in Fla most all my life and have never seen a space launch up close so hubby and I were planning on driving down there and watching from a parking lot on May 14th. Well tonight I get the most amazing email that I WON a spot at the tweetup. Which means I get to meet some past astronauts, engineers, go on a tour, and see the launch from a special area. I'm stoked!
But while I'm completely excited, I'm also bummed. Apparently, this is the only contest I have ever seen where you can't bring someone with you! My hubby is being really cool about it and is telling me to go it's a once in a lifetime opportunity. But I really want him to go!
My other hesitation, I'll be about 6 months pregnant at the time of the launch. After about 2 hours on my feet, my back kills me! Last week we went to Disney and I got a wheel chair so I wouldn't slow anyone down, get winded or be dying by the end of the day. I haven't told the Nasa people this, hoping they won't be weird about it. Would be even cooler if they will let hubby go and push me in a wheel chair (since I don't know how much walking I am going to have to do) or carry my camera gear.
I'm dying here waiting for Nasa to email me back and let me know if they can put him in under someone who can't make it.
