Nasty ice storm....

Sundown, I feel for you. What do you have hooked up to the generator besides the computer?
Do you have a fireplace or did you hook up electric heaters to generator. Are they saying when you'll get power back on? I think your chicks will be okay. I'll be thinking about you. We had an ice storm 8 years ago. Power was out for a week. We live in the sticks though, so we were last to get it back on.

Bummer about all of that ice. I hate how ice storms wreck the trees and of course, create power loss issues.

Here on the north end of that storm I spent 5 hours clearing a foot of wet, very heavy snow with a crust of ice on top. That's 5 hours on a tractor too. Cold dry snow sure plows easier than this stuff.

Hope the power isn't off too long, it is supposed to get real cold now.

We had that experience a few years ago and had power but most of my relatives didnt have power on for a week. Now the Ameren IP company are fighting the city about paying some folks spoiled meat in freezers and they still raised our rates higher.

So batten down the hatches and hope for the best that no more trees fall on your houses!

We we had a horrible ice storm a few years back we were without power for 3 weeks, and worst of all I didnt have a genny. I lost all my fish (I had 50 rare exotic chiclids) I lost my Chinese water dragons (I had 5) And my birds! Man I feel for you at least you have a generator!
