Nasty Worms... HELP!

When I went down to the chicken coop to collect eggs after our 3-day vacation, I found something in the egg basket I will never be able to un-see. Worms. I saw creepy worms scattering all over the basket. There was a cracked egg in there, and I tried taking all of it out, along with the hay, but there were still tons of worms all over it. There were white ones and brownish ones. Can it kill my chickens or give them a disease? Please help me! I’m freaking out!

It will be OK...there is a bit of grossness that comes along with chickens. But, you get used to it.

I can't really see the worm in the first picture, but, the second one looks like a darkling beetle larvae.

Keep the chicken environment tidy, as, these beetles are known to spread disease.

Your chickens just lucked out! Those are mealworms won't hurt them a bit

Ok. Thanks to both of you. I put a rock there for now so that the chickens wouldn’t sit there. Good to know that these aren’t serious worms that can kill them. Got a little carried away there. God bless you to
