Naturally Eliminate Mosquitos (and flies) in the coop!!! (and make your chickens more comfortable)

I put the fan in my window today. Let's see how it goes. I don't have a mosquito problem per se, as I am always out during the day... however a fly problem you bet.

This is awesome! I live in Mississippi and our mosquitoes are so bad that they'll carry you away! I'm definitely trying this! Thanks for sharing!

I live in newfoundland Canada and this summer is terrible it has only started to get warm and the mosquitoes have gotten bigger to cope with the could so I will try this on a small scale so the girls don't get to much of a breeze
Thanks for the idea

I read about this a few years ago. Completely forgot about it. I'm getting eaten alive down here. I'm trying it! And with our 100 degree temperatures, my girls will appreciate the breeze!!

Just found this. I'm in Texas and they will carry you off if you stay still long enough. Thanks for a great idea that you passed along to us.

So in my case I use the affordable gadget that are eliminate any insects including mosquitoes. It is traps. Before I bought it, I searching a lot of models of this device, and then take a few best mosquito traps to use it for my chickens. During few weeks I don't see any midges or mosquitoes near the chickens. I think it is a good way to get rid of them.

BigRed, I would love to take credit for it but I found it on you tube. Three days later there are no flying insects in the coop. We have no trapped any flies but I guess they dont like the air turbulence. As far as the mosquitos the net is full will need to clean out soon but there are no flying pests anywhere near the coop.

It has worked so well I am going to set up an industrial fan with a light bulb and see if it will clear the area...

P.S. I am surprised by the lack of response here, I figured mosquitos were a bigger problem than they must be. Getting rid of flies was an added bonus.

Does the chickens get bothered with the air blowing in their faces? What speed do you turn it on to?
