I did not want to add to my population of six Toulouse Geese this year so all Spring, I removed their eggs & broke them off their nests when they went broody. I had to be out-of -town for a few weeks in May-June. I removed all the eggs from a last nest and the goose was broody. She laid two eggs after I left and hatched them. They hatched the day I got home:

They are special to have around; I want to pick them up and hug them -- I guess I will now have 8 Toulouse!

Everyone who visits are scared of the Toulouse. My teenage farm helper runs from them. I try and tell folks that they are big babies & are great bluffers (and won't really attack) but the geese always manage to bluff them. The geese seem delighted when they get by with their bluff.
