It thundersnows in Ohio every so often, seen it before but it's still very cool!

The quadrantid meteor shower is Friday morning starting around 1am and peaking at 5am central time, for anyone interested. I'm going to try and catch it, weather permitting.

Dang, that was unexpected. I checked that website at midnight and it said it wasn't really hitting on too much. I guess you never know....

How many people do you guys know who have been able to photograph a comet in broad daylight?

Well, you can add one person to that list. Me.

That’s right, everybody! I was able to photograph comet C/2024 G3 ATLAS in broad daylight!

I must warn you all that it was very tricky and a little dangerous. I had to align my telescope to the sun with a solar filter, and then I input the coordinates of Atlas, and once the telescope moved there and I verified that the sun was not in the field of view, I removed the solar filter and got this picture.
