NE Oklahoma Chicken Stock - Let's Plan!

We're in NE OK, so we're in...and flexible too...

What would the cost be to rent a big tent and distribute port-a-potties for your farm vs Muskogee Fair Ground Building? Another question that might help answer, how many folks would be staying over night vs driving home? I would bet several would just come for the day (be it a long one

) because of needing to take care of animals in the evenings and morning...

Just some thoughts

but, looking forward to hang'in with Chicken folk!

I've got calls in at two places that rent event tents. I'll call them again Tuesday if they don't reach me on Monday. I have not called porta potty places yet. I also need to check with our insurance guy to be sure we'd be covered here at the farm. If our insurance won't cover having a big do at the farm, then renting the building at the fair grounds will be the most practical thing to do. I'll post what I find out tomorrow.

poco sounds great may would be better heet wise and ex ex june and july are usualy to hot and sept the fair and school football ex ex in a bussy mounth put me doun to help with anny thing you may need in planing the events i will be a fulltime volenter

i palan on having the GREEN COUNTRY MEET next fall but in oct this year so i don't conflict with all the county fairs and other events

MAY- 19th sounds good if all the kids are out of school yet
may- 26th is memorial weekend
JUNE-2nd is a big auction day
JUNE -9th would be good but the last three years june has been 100 + most of the mounth which is to hot for the birds

I don't have all the numbers yet, but here's a summary: Big tents: $300 - $500 per day. Portapotty rentals: $25 - $100 each, depending on company, capacity, extras. Necessary Extra Insurance if held at WBFarm: $ not yet known. Should know something tomorrow.

It's looking like renting a covered building at the Muskogee Fair Grounds will be our best option for our event location.

Event Date: Would people be interested in attending a chicken gathering on March 17th? This is the Saturday before Spring Break for many Oklahoma schools.

Below is a list of twelve Saturdays. Let me know which will work for you and which won't. Let me know if there are big events scheduled on any of these days so that we can strike the date from our list.

I think March could be good. Everyone will be filling their incubators with spring chicks. It is before graduation activities. Might be. Little cool but sounds like the calendars are already filling up for everyone!

I haven't looked when does Easter fall? That is the only BIG thing that crosses my mind.
