Nearly 17 Week Old Pullet Practicing the Egg Song!

Do we think she's getting close? She's a sweet, gentle lady, and she's definitely calmed down about getting handled and petted. This is the first time I've heard her make a sound like the egg song.

Sounds like she's practicing, and that's a pretty red comb too. So the first egg should come sooner rather than later.

Almost all the pullets I've had that were a little more "uptight" when they were younger really started to settle down and let me handle them more probably a week or two before they laid their first egg. Should be soon! PS-What a good Betsy!!

We are SO excited! And @GravityWaves my 4 year old daughter adores this pullet, and it's easy to see why. She is a very good Betsy! We'll keep patiently looking around for any eggs, though I have some dummy eggs set up in the nesting area in hopes she'll figure it out for herself.
