Necessary sizing

Ok so say I get buff Orpington how much space to they need in the coop and in the run since they'll not be able to free range everyday but maybe 1 day a week and not for long I'm not saying I'll get buff Orpingtons but I know they're the largest I'll get and the most I can get is 6 so please leave for info

4 sq ft in coop + 10 sq ft in run, minimum. A higher minimum may be needed based on climate (colder climate, better to go 6 or 8 sq ft in coop). If you can go larger than that, do so... chickens will always do better with more space and you'll have fewer issues.

This is per bird. So, if you get 6 you’ll need a coop that is at least 24 sq ft and a run that is at least 60. As is mentioned, these should be considered minimum spacing requirements for 6 hens.
