Necrotic Toe

This chick had a hair wrapped around her toe, and the end of her toe became necrotic. I got the hair off, but I'm not sure what I should do with the necrotic segment. Is it possible it will just fall off or should I amputate it?

I also believe it will fall off on it own and would watch for now.

I've had chicks nearly strangled in mama hens feathers and seen all sort of things get stuck around chickens legs and such..

Glad this looks like it will be minor, with you taking care of it.

You might view other threads about frost bite for some reference type reading about what infection looks like if it starts to set in and what others have done in those instances.
