My dominant hens are trying to keep the littles from eating when I feed everyone, and the mama hen isn't intervening much on their behalf anymore at mealtimes.

What do you use to keep a supply of food available to your chicks without the adults getting to it? I had a little station, but the adults figured out how to breach it and eat their food.

Pics or links to something I could copycat would be great, too.

Have you tried putting shallow feeders behind movable low walls?

The chicks will find the food as they run away from the adults.

Think of the movable walls looking like a box cut in half diagonally. It works well.
I used actual boxes from costco too.

It gives the chicks a hidden space safe from being seen. No see no peck. ;)

Good idea, but will have to use wood or plastic. My big girls can make very short work of some cardboard. Lol!
