Need a Chicken Tractor - Central Maryland

Looking for someone to build a 12 x 15 chicken tractor for 6 laying hens. Need it to be year round adaptable, adjustable cover over run, predator proof, and lightweight. My girls are pets, so I also need access. Send pics and price. Please--serious replies only.

On tuesday I will have a 6x4 wooden chicken tractor with a strong door and then I could also build you another PVC run that is 10X10 the 6x4 wooden tractor gives you a safe secure area for them to roost and be locked in at night. I will post pictures in a second I can't sell it until tuesday because my new coop will be coming on Monday.

Thanks for your response. Let me get back to you. Im concerned that the run isn't fox-proof. I have a big fox problem and need something to hold them back.

In Maryland, you are allowed to live trap feral cats and dogs, but not foxes, raccoons, etc. in order to relocate them. I may need to ask for forgiveness rather than permission.

Boyd thanks for your intrest,
We don't have to many foxes around. Unless they are very bold and will attack during the day you should be ok because you should lock them inside at night. I could also exchange the less secure chicken wire on my runs for stronger 1/2 " hardware cloth. I assume if you did want one you would want the 10x10 one? it is more secure than the others. They also have pop doors and I can make a door so that you can access the inside. I won't put the wooden tractor on craigslist until probably next weekend.

Where in Central Maryland are you?

I am looking for a coop, my yard is small so I am looking to build one. Do you have any suggestions on how to start to build a small coop or procure a used coop. Do you use new wood or recycle?

I have looked on craigslist but no luck.

I'm not having any luck either. I live in the Catonsville area and I can't feed my dogs and cats in my backyard because the fox will run them away.

I need a sturdy, portable, structure to hold off the foxes. I received a good response from a young man who offered to build a PVC run with a wooden cage. It would probably work very well, any place else but here.

we should build em together! Today while driving I saw some old pallets tossed in the junk pile. I live in Laurel and have my chicks in a dog kennel This is most interesting project though!

AH those foxes sound nasty !

I am glad we don't have that many or ones that are that mean around here ! wow. I don't think my set up would work for you if you have foxes like that I just bought a new coop the other day so I could add a few hens but it cost quite a lot of $$ I was even reluctant but when I got it turns out to be really nice and the hens seem to like it. I got it at Horizon structures and there are also pictures of the model at cedargrove coops.
