Hello, I'm new to the chicken business and have a concern about ongoing watery stools. I started with 6 Buff Orpingtons and a month later aquired 4 Lavender's. Two of those died within a month of getting them and the other 2 have always had brown watery stools. Everyone is healthy and happy, and we have them in a clean safe coop but they roam around in the afternoon. We have treated them on 2 occasions with Wazine 17 and it didn't really stop. I have always assumed it was coccidiosis but we never see blood in the stools and they are all healthy looking and eat and drink well. Out of the 8 pullets we are raising, 4 are laying now, 3 are roosters and one is undetermined
The 2 Buff's bully my Lavender and I wonder if it could just be stress. Actually, the Lavender's have always been the lowest in the pecking order...... I'm trying to find homes for the Buff's since I realize now just why you can't have more than one rooster in the flock! Just wish I could find out if this problem needs to be treated or just left alone...Thank for any help!
