Roosters can be so much fun! Make sure you get an older one that's already proven his mettle. You don't want some gorgeous young thang that later decides you are Satan incarnate and must die.

I have a small farm with about 12 hens and introducing 6 more shortly and my rooster was killed, so I need to replace him. I prefer to adopt but are wiling to pay

Have you checked Craigslist and your local FB Poultry groups? Free and cheap roosters are very easy to find.
