So far I have 4 Dorkings, 4 Silkies & 2 Ameraucanas out of 23 eggs in lockdown. One more Dorking is zipping, but I don't see anymore pips.

Hope they're just taking their time.

they are cute. what kind are they. I see 2 more trying to hatch in the bator. that will bring it to 10. still waiting on the rest to see what they will do and have to go back to wrk tomorrow. YUCK

I am trying to set up an area for the others now. Do any of you give yours Grow Gel? I have some that I got when Dh ordered chicks last year and never used it. We had some from another shipment. says there is enough in there for 100 baby chicks do not have that many lol

Well, the hatch is over. Of 36 eggs, 12 were infertile and money was refunded... of the rest I have 12 that got through the hatch process. 6 of those were lavender americaunas (3 lavs 3 blacks) and 6 were the cutest lil salmon favorelles. What cute chickies! The are sooo cute when they are fresh! Hope everyone's hatches went well! I'm thrilled with mine as they all came from opposite coast.

They all started yesterday. I had 7 hatched when I went to bed last night and woke up with a bator full of chicks. I haven't taken anyone out yet because every time I am about to start taking them out I realize there is another one pipped or someone zipping. I am too scared of them getting shrink wrapped. I know they can last upto 3 days with the yolk so I will wait till tomorrow. Hopefully the two eggs I have left will have hatched out by then.

I am on day 21.

Work was torture today. I could hear tapping and peeping when I left at 5:50am.... knowing that I wouldn't get home until after 8pm!!! Aaaargh!

But, I'm home now and there are 2 pips!!!

It's only day 19. Maybe I'll have an early chick tomorrow? My humidity was high last night when I put them in lock-down... it went up to 76%. Right now it is exactly 70%. I'll leave it for now, but when it gets down to what... when should I add warm water through the straws? I'll go double check my cheat sheet.

I couldn't do an eggtopsy on the quitter I took out last night. I was too tired and too scared. The 2 that looked questionable that I left in the 'bator... well at least one of them is one of the 2 my husband added the next day after setting. So maybe they were both those and eggs and still have a chance.

32 set on the 1st
2 set on the 2nd

My one pip thus far sadly died fully developed in shell... guess I should have helped it sooner. No action on others. Float test indicates viable, full term development. I stink at this.
