Need a home for a pet sheep- FREE

I'm sorry that it seems that I overstepped my boundaries. I apologize. I was just trying to help you keep it alive long enough to find it a good home.

ETA: I would suggest you post on BYC's sister site www.backyardherds.com. There may be some folks there that can help.

thank you everyone, she has found a home.

green, it was slightly off putting considering everything I have read and been told was to never give them cows milk, esp to a small one as it could kill them.

These threads are directed at goat kids, but will work for sheep as well. I'm not meaning to step on your toes, but educate. Bottle feeding whole milk is done and successfully with much better results than powdered milk replacers by many experienced breeders. In my personal experience I have used powdered milk replacers on a kid and he stayed small all his life. I switched to whole milk when bottle raising and they were much healthier and larger. The powdered stuff is not just the same as real, liquid milk. If you want another opinion besides mine, I'm sure that the folks on these threads can tell you more about using whole milk as well.

I will second what GFF said........we always had sheep when I was growing up and for future reference.....lambs do well on whole cows milk.....that's all we ever used to raise orphan or rejected lambs.
