So last night we discovered a new problem with our coop design (they are numerous) our rooster, Chadington, is too big for the automatic door we have. He can get in at night but last night decided to try to stay out for the night and while encouraging everyone to go inside, we watched how he's been getting in at night.
This boy has been lowering his head all the way down and then dang near dragging his belly on the floor just to fit through the door. We immediately felt bad for this poor guy as he scooted through the door.
Any recommendations for a larger automatic door would be much appreciated.

Is it the width or height that is causing problems?

We have 3 of the same auto door that swings outward, like a people door. It provides more room for the chickens to get through, which is often necessary for mine who are mostly big.

It's this one - Door
Approximately 14 x 11 inch opening.
Although that listing is sold out, there are other sellers with the same model, like this one - Also a Door
Things I like aside from the swing style...
- The battery lasts a long time, at least 3 months for me without charging
- It can be charged with the plug instead of the solar panel at need, and a few hours of charge lasts months.
- the door and frame are metal, for security
- the catch of the door is secure and it doesn't feel like an animal could pry it open (I am not, however, a racoon).

The current door is 9.6 by 8.2 and it's mostly height. Also thank you for answering all those other questions.
