This chick was born an hour or two ago....and has this thing coming out of its rear. I'm extremely new to the hatching scene, so could someone help me out here?

Any help would be greatly appreciated...I can take more pictures if needed. This little guy is chirping like crazy!

We had a chick that was a bit like that. This looks like guts but I could be wrong ours was comming out of the tummy and it was clearly guts. The chick was hatched with the guts on the outside. It was a cull. I am not sure about this as you said it came from it bottom. If it was his tummy some folk gently push it back inside and supper glue the whole closed - but you can;t do that if its out the bottom? I hate to see it suffer but you say its cherping away ours was too actually which was harder for us to make the call to cull. We just know how intricate the insides of a laying hen are and thought even if we pushed the bits back in chances of us getting it right were not good and we could have caused it issues later like internal laying etc. My heart goes out to you. It doesn;t look much like the egg sac. I would keep it seperated until someone with more knowledge comes along soon. - prepare yourself though as I think if its guts its going to be a cull. - sorry.

I might look a little closer and see if it is coming out closer towards the tummy...I didn't get a super close look. I'll wait till atleast another couple of people post before making any super huge decisions...I just hate to have to cull this little guy/gal. But if it is guts and its suffering then it looks like that might be the only option. Thanks for helping out though Oesdog.

The naval will be about half inch below the vent. If it's from the naval, which it looks to be coming from, they do look like intestines, from which cull is probably the best answer.

It really upset us to have to cull - it was our first chicks and it was very hard to lift it from under the hen and take it away. In the end no regrets though.
If you need help to cull - I will send a PM as I am a different time zone and have to go to bed. - sorry it does look a lot like guts to me though.

We had the exact same thing last week, but our chick hatched was perfectly fine was even moved to the brooder, eating, drinking, livelly and then boom, and it was even more extreme than your picture and was most definitely intestines. Sadly, all you can do is euthanize. it is so hard for me to euthanzie but we are also a wildlife rescue and home to non releasable wildlife so we can usually give them to the raccoon or foxes and they take care of it quickly and as nature intended. So sorry, it really does stink, i know.
