need a little help

about a week ago my uncle dropped off a bird nest with eggs in it at my house He said he pulled it from a car engine that he sold. They were little white eggs with red spots. So I threw them in the inubator and thought if they hatchs thats cool but if not owell. Well They hatched. They are really small babys. I have raised Mockingbirds, starlings, blue Jay, and pigeons but never this small.
Whats the best way to feed them? I have some Kaytee birds formula. How often do they have to be fed? Whats the best way to keep them warm? Thanks

They need to be fed about every two hours or when their crops are empty. Keep them in something that doesn't have alot of air flow except at the top so they dont get a breeze and you can put a heat pad on the outside on the bottom or a heat lamp. It need to be about 99 degrees inside there.

Please call a wildlife rehabilitator! So many songbirds are in decline... without knowing what you have, it might be a species that needs help and any young saved would help. Some species have very specific diets and will suffer lifelong defects or simply die if not fed the right things.

Kaytee formula is not suitable for most songbird species.

You can contact your Local Fish and Game / Conservation department and they should give you the number for a rehabber near you. If not, try calling a local exotics vet, as they tend to have a relationship or at least know of rehabbers in the area.

The babies will need food very soon, please don't wait to do this.

I'm sorry if I seem urgent-- I know you are only trying to help. But most individuals are not well equipped to deal with some of the more delicate songbirds... not to mention it's technically illegal to have them.
