Need a recommendation -- Polish or white sultan?

i had to give my pair of sultans away. my roo was too prone to illness. They usually dont lay very well and are more fragile in comparison to my other birds. they are gentle, quiet, easily spooked and need more care than most other breeds. my polish hang in there with all my other chickens, and lay well

I have never had any polish, plan on getting some though. I have a sultan hen and she is a real sweetheart. She lives with my silkies right now. She does her own thing and doesn't seen to let anything bother her. She is a good layer but I have had her since June and she has never went broody. Guess she figures let the silkies do all the work right. lol

Interesting... I think I am going to go for Polish. I'm a bit concerned about tophats merging with my existing girls.... But I have a fallback plan. A chickenless work friend and I are going to split and order of 25 total chicks with 5 each of various varieties, so if my older girls are too rough on them, I can re-home to his place with a small flock of the same age that will include a few Polish already.

Thanks for everyone's advice and info! Much appreciated.
