Need adive about a pony??Update

Please just run the other way.

There are plenty of sound better bred ponies that would be a lot better match for your daughter.

Unbroke ponies of that size are selling for 500 and less.

If he was truly a "rescue" he would give you the mare.

It is good to see someone exercising due diligence and common sense when horse shopping. I know it's hard when you feel bad for the animal, but those of us who are not rich and can't afford to accumulate rescued pasture ornaments willy-nilly, you do have to make some hard decisions. For sure you made the right one.

The right pony *will* come along for you, I'm sure, good luck,

Pat, actually with a coupla rescued pasture ornaments at the moment, but, that's not the point

Unless the animal is down and dying (and not always then) the rescues will not do anything.
All the rescues are flooded and overflowing right now. People cannot give horses away. Papered weanlings and yearlings sell for 50 and less at auctions.

Things are terrible right now.....

There is a lady I know that runs a rescue near by and she is looking into his so called rescue. I can not take her even for the $100 he is asking. I can't afford a horse that I may not be able use. Times are tough and winter is just around the corner.
We only have room/money for one more horse and it has to be the perfect one for my family.
