I have a 4 year old mini Nubian doe. She is milked twice a day. A six month old Pygmy wether joined the herd. I have seen him pester her all the time to nurse. Tonight I went out to milk and NO MILK! Could she be giving in to him? What should I do?

You might have to seperate him from the doe. Sounds like he isn't fully weaned, even though she isn't his mother.

I'd move him away from her. He is obviously not finished being a baby

If she will let him he will continue the behavior.

Thanks. Missprissy, I could send him to friend's herd for a while. How long would he need to be away?

Anyone have an idea how long he should be seperated from my doe to get him out of the habit? I can send him to a friend's herd to stay in the buck pen for a while.

Keep him away for 2 weeks. When you bring him back watch him closely. He could go right back to the milk stealing. If he does you will have to choose to rehome him, keep in a separate pen from the does, or cull him completely.
