I tried trimming Charlie's beak just a tiny bit at the tip and it bled really bad, he does fine on his own and hopefully yours will too.

And yes, Charlie only has one eye as well and really not much of a comb...I can tell he's a boy because of his saddle feathers.

Just wanted to bump this up and report that my little cross beak ate a worm last night! I was so proud of her. She needed some extra time to figure it out (I pulled her buddy out of the brooder- that little stinker ate THREE before I could catch her), but she finally gobbled it up. I have grit in the brooder and she's scratching in it like a crazy chicken. She really has a will to live and I hope that she makes it. She's a fighter.

Thanks for posting about your little one-eyed chick. My kids thought that was just amazing. We have a three-legged dog and a one-eyed cat. We are the home for misfit toys!
