need advice for fisrt coop

i am new on this forum and usualy i speak french so i appologize in advance for my mistakes...

im living in quebec and i want to build a coop for about 3 or 4 chickens (it's my first one). i would like to have some tip and advice for the design and some idea for cheap materials.
since i live in quebec i also need a good insolation cause over here winter last arrond 6 month can get as cold as -30 c.

every idea or information are welcome!
 
Advice: Build it twice as big as you were planning to build.

yeah i would definiatly build it bigger then what you think you need. As far as cheap materials some people use pallets they get for free. You can check craigslist usually somebody there will have wood from tearing down a porch or fence that they want hauled off. Also construction sites you can ask the foreman if you can have "scraps" and they'll usually let you take whatever so they don't have to pay to get rid of it. Good luck on your coop.
 
Shipping pallets are easy to find in my area. Most people will give them to you for free if you ask. They make for a cheap source of lumber.
