My turkey hen laid her eggs under a bush. We then moved her and her eggs to a private coop. She seemed content laying on her eggs but tends to leave them for long periods of time untill they actually feel cold. She lays all night on them but not during the day. Should I put them in an incubator or will they still hatch on their own? This is her first time laying and witnessed breeding with the Toms.

Don't know how her being on them all night will affect them. Daytime temps, especially cold temps, will have an impact on hatchability. For the embryo to develope, temperature and humidity have to stay pretty consistant. Probably not happening with her off the nest during the day. If you want those eggs to have a better chance of hatching I would suggest putting them in an incubator. I wouldn't get my hopes up though. Even if they hatch I've heard all my life that turkeys spend all their spare time "thinking up ways to die". Best wishes and good luck.

wow, then my turkeys are dumb, after 3 years and they haven't tought of nothing, i can only guess how stressed grandmas are they are close to 8 years
