NEED ADVICE! Have chickens but no coop. Lookimg for affordable options

Dog kennels are a great option! And can be set up in an hour as well as add onto!

I’m not sure where you like. But we got a great run on amazon. Took a day to put up. Mainly because we do have a lot of predators and needed to make sure it was secure. The run is large... probably not big enough for 40 chickens though! We have 12 in a 20x10 run. We did spend a lot on the coop. But if you have a shed to convert you’re good. But it’s got to be a very big shed for that many chickens!

I wouldn't recommend chicken wire, unless you are SURE there are no problems with predators. If not then go with something a bit more sturdy.
Predators really aren't a problem here, but what would I use besides chicken wire?

I know EXACTLY what you are talking about. It isn't available atm, which is why I'm here asking. I loved it for the price and sturdy build. However, can't get till June or something like that.

Yes... many people on here use them. They do need some modifications.... addition of HC around the bottom, maybe a covering for the top... but yes! MANY people use them...
And I know for a fact you can find people getting rid of those!

OH... and they mean Hardware Cloth... instead of chicken wire.... it's a fine mesh fence material. My husband calls it rabbit wire ☺

And if you do find one like that make sure the roof peels all the way to the top. Ours has a pitch but flattens our on top. The tarp holds water when it rains.

The funny thing is it takes alot of time for them to start laying. By then hopefully it will be over and I can collect some egg laying chickens for cheap(cause people who bought wont want them anymore)
