Need advice on a duckling😩

I’m really new here as I’m kind of losing it basically we got two ducklings on the 2nd June and on on 7th June one duckling passes away due to what they think is just a birth defect the problem is now until we can go pick up the new ducklings (this week I hope!) the duckling we have left has become VERY needy which is fine we always give him/her a fuss and let them out to run around whenever we can but we’ve found he really dislikes being in his house and just wants us to the point we can’t leave the room or go to sleep as he chirps at the top of his little lungs and it’s getting very difficult, I’ve tried making it more comfortable for it’s a blanket ontop of the cage, one of my daughters soft toys but he’s just so frantic constantly. Trying to do anything even just sleep is very very difficult and as I mentioned we have a daughter who three so I’m worried she won’t get much sleep and obviously me not getting much sleep is just as worse as I can’t just go nap with a toddler running loose please send help
