I just want to clarify that my dog no longer behaves this way, he is perfectly happy to be around everyone. He was still a baby when this happened and I really can't blame the dog for biting her. She was bitten in the face because she cornered the dog, pulled his ears and then decided to give him a hug. The dog had been warning her all night long, we had been warning her all night long. Like I said before there were 4 adults (only 2 watching the kids) and 6 kids running around. I do not remember what I was doing when the bite happened but I did not wittness it, and of course 20/20 hind sight is always great to have. TRUST ME that dog had his behavior corrected immediately! I know dogs and know their behavior. This dog that bit my DD is completely untrained and is allowed to do whatever he wants to do; I have a big issue with this since he then thinks he is the alpha male of the house. NEVER good!
This latest event is just the tip of the iceburg with these people; having nothing to do with them would not hurt my feelings one bit. I leave the decision up to my kids and my DH if they want to see them or not.
I will ask my in-laws to not have anybody bring their dogs to family events. This would be punishing my other BIL and SIL though since their dog is wonderful...... and it is great socialization time for all the dogs when we visit the farm.....
