Need advice on Rhode Island Red / Production Red strain

I agree your dark rooster looks like a type of production red, he does seem to have a bit shorter back than mine and a larger comb. The more orange one I would guess is a cross of some kind. I'm a newbie at the genitics stuff so maybe one of our gurus will chime in on that. We've already got a couple posting here.

As soon as I can get over this bad cold I've got I'll try and take some more pictures of my flock.
 
Yeah, as a newbie at this I really wanted to stick to one breed. It was tough trying to pick out a single breed from the hundreds I saw. Within the dual purpose structure I gave myself, I went more for the egg laying of the reds over the better meat qualities of others. I would love to have other breeds, and may eventually do that, but Im not really set up to keep the breeds that isolated to prevent a run full of mutts. Not that it is such a bad thing, I actually like the idea of genetic diversity. Of course, I also don't want to impair their egg laying, etc.

Heck, no one complained about me wanting a pretty breed... but thought I was crazy because I was insistent about NOT having white chickens. I see the trucks carrying cornish x's through town all the time.
