We found a branch that would work perfect in our coop. I need advice, would the bark be too rough on their feet? I know most people use 2x 4's in their coops but I have also heard natural branches are better. What is your opinion. (Pic shows it slanted but we would obviously mount it level lol)

It's hard to tell what size the branch is. If it's at least 3 1/2" in diameter, it should be fine. I use a 2x4 (wide side up) in my coop, but I have a piece of a sapling about 4" in diameter as a roost in the corner of the run, and the chickens seem to enjoy it during the day.

Oh, about the bark. No, it's not too rough on their feet. Over time, their feet will smooth it out, and the crevices will fill with dirt/poop.
