Here is a picture. It's been zipping for about 2 hours now and isn't progressing much.

If it keeps zipping leave it

Is it zipping or just punching around?

If it's actually trying to zip, then it needs help. A good zip never takes more than an hour and most times much less time than even that.

It was actually trying to zip. But across the top instead of around it. I did end up helping it. I enlarged the hole and applied bacitracin ointment to the membrane. Then placed it back in the incubator on a damp towel. It hatched about 3 hours later and is doing very well.

This is a baby from my red easter egger roo and one of my golden comets. I love its fluffy cheeks!
