need advice please on pekin duck

I asked this question on the just ducky facebook page and posted the video of her coughing, Some people commented and said it was a normal noise. Saying its called cackling. I am really confused what to believe. I know shes normal every other way but I am still constantly worried about her everytime she makes this noise, does anyone else believe it could just be cackling? or do you believe its a cough?

I've never thought of cackling coming from a duck, but I only know I have heard the same thing from one of my Muscovy ducks and she is over 10 yrs old and still going strong.

I am a new duck owner a learn new things everyday! I may be overreacting about this cough thing but thats just because I love them all and don't want anything bad to happen. Its just so confusing....so many different causes out there. That is great to hear one of your ducks did that and it still going strong :)
I guess I need to try and not worry so much since she does eat, drink, play and do everything normal but this scary sounding cough/cackle or whatever it is..I am so glad there are forums out here to help each other with out ducky troubles

I'm thinking as long as she is "normal" in every other way try not to be concerned, it's probably just some quirk of hers just like my Alice May I have never heard any of my other ducks do it.

I have one duck who's a little more simple than the others, and often she stuffs her crop when she eats and then walks around making that same noise until she remembers to go get a drink of water. I watch her to make sure she drinks, and then usually she's fine. Maybe it's something like that with your girl?

She seems to be losing her voice now :-( Its so frustrating because shes had this cough for 3 months now,and now all a sudden her voice seems odd, I am so confused because I seriously clean their house 2-3times a day. I dont know if this is aspergillosis or not, does asper take a long time for symptoms? No other problems but cough and voice now

If you can afford it maybe you should think of taking her to the vet. Asper is brooder pneumonia. On my med chart is says for Bacterial pneumonia use Oxytetracycline 2Tab to 1 gal of water 5-7 days

I cant afford to just yet, possibly in a weeks time I can, In the meantime Ive done tylan 50 1/2cc orally the last 3 days.
