Need advice please

Hi! We’ve had a broody sitting on 8 eggs for a week. I canceled some and they’ve developed in the last couple days. Others have been laying eggs in the same nest box and I take the new ones out every day. She’s been doing great. Sometime between 9 and 6 today she left the nest box and went one box over yo 2 new eggs. I moved her back but are those eggs done for? Did she abandon them?

Also. She has been kicking a few out that I assume we’re not good but none of these

Sometimes hens get mixed up on which nest to return to. She has not given up unless she is not sitting at all. The eggs might be ok. Did she go over because another hen was on her nest? Was she only off for an hour? Is the air temperature warm today? There are many variables. What I would do is wait a couple of days then candle again to see if there are still signs of life.

I was at work. Checked on her at 9 and then at 6. She hasn’t been bothered by others laying where she was sitting. I moved her back and she kept sitting. I may try moving her down a couple boxes and move the eggs too. She’s serious about her business. She plucked herself bald and everything. It’s about 90 and humid here today. The eggs were about room temp when I checked

At 90 the eggs are more than likely fine.

If you try moving her you may need to lock her there for a couple days because her instincts will have her go back to the old spot.

Thanks all! I put her back in the old spot and she’s happy as can be. She’s been kicking out eggs that aren’t developing or aren’t fertile so I’ll watch a few days and see what she does
