We are having issues getting the ducks and chickens to go in their coop at dark on their own is there anyone that can give us some ideas to make the process easier ?????????

Chickens needed homed to a coop. Is your coop large enough to lock them in for a week? If so, shut them in day and night for a week. After that chickens are pretty good on heading to the coop (unless the condition of the coop is poor). If it is not large enough to lock them in for a week, continue putting them in each night. They should catch on soon.

Ducks are different. They need more motivation to come to a coop at night. We motivate them by only put out feed for the ducks at night. Some keepers add a treat such as peas at night. After it is fairly dark most of our ducks come to the night pen.
Start with them staying in night quarters for a few weeks will help. A pen outside the coop maybe needed. Make sure to feed or treat just as it gets dark.

I would give my ducks some type of treat each night. Peas, lettuce, blueberries, ect

But only in their coop area and only at night just before sunset. After a while I just have to go outside just before sunset and they are all in the coop area waiting for me
