might of been a birth defect, or it could be severe frostbite. did you have him from hatching?

Yes. He/she was labeled as a brown egg layer from rural king. 4 of those 5 turned out to be roosters. They all went outside together at the same time, but the others toes are ok. However, this one was a little sicky a couple months back.
