I'm glad you brought him home & sorry he was run off

my thought is to hope he hears your guinea & finds his way back....
But I am almost afraid he is lost.
A month ago I brought home 4 young ones & 2 dissappeared & the other
2 stay close.
In the beginning of June I should have a whole bunch of keets if you would
be interested in more.

Thanks. I am praying so hard for him. He is easy to identify as one wattle is very small. I think I will put in a call to the shelter and to animal control just in case he is spotted. Any chance he would try and make his way back to his old home? It is in the same town about 3-4 miles from where the camp is.

If I got keets how long would I have to contain them before they know where they live?

I am so annoyed that those people have their dog out almost all of the time just tied on a very long lead. I had to move where I park my car since it was getting scratched. I love dogs but they don't belong outside unattended for hours, especially near the farm animals.

How far are you from the farm you got him from? Don't feel bad, we've all been there and just learn from it and try to let it go. Maybe he will show up at the original home if it's not too far. If he is pearl he'll have a better chance of making it through the nights. He might show up.

Sorry, but you don't have to act like I am dumb by putting READ in all caps. I thought I was just trying to help out. I am sorry to hear that he ran away, but you should always keep new, adult guineas locked up for atleast a month before letting them loose so they learn their new home. Hopefully, he will come back if he hears the other one or the chickens. I had one that was chased by a dog (the guinea wouldn't fly for some reason) down the road for about a mile and a half right before dark and he was home the next day, but I have lots of chickens and other guineas and turkeys that he was used to hearing. Hope this helps!

Hi! still have my fingers crossed for you
fl.gif

the keets I will have in the next few weeks will be really
young so they should stay confined like you do with your chicks
with my last experience I wish I would have waited a good 3 weeks or
more... then maybe I wouldn't have lost the 2...

Take care. ~~Jen~~

I only put read in CAPS to be noticed, no harm intended, I am the one feeling very dumb and very sad.

I am still praying for him. He is a pearl about 1 year old. The other people where he came from live about 3-4 miles away. He would have to cross 2 streets also. I left messages with animal control and animal shelter too.

I guess I should tell the previous owners but I feel so bad am hoping he will surface before I have to give them sad news.
